Pakistan Won 2nd T20 Against South Africa and Level the Series by 1-1

Pakistan tour of South Africa 2013: Pakistan won by 6 runs against South Africa in the 2nd T20 Cricket Match Played at Newlands, Cape Town on November 22, 2013. Splendid fifties by Hafeez and Akmal coupled with a match-changing 3-wicket haul from Afridi helped Pak beat RSA by 6 runs.

It was an all-round effort from Pakistan that helps them square the 2-match series 1-1. South Africa were once again given a good start from de Kock and Amla. The latter continued after the departure of his partner and was out just before he could get his maiden T20I fifty. Duminy played well with Miller and they put on 53 for the fifth wicket. But they were left with too many to get and some good death bowling did not help their cause as well. Afridi was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up three wickets and was well supported by Bhatti. Tanvir held his nerve to defend 17 runs in the last over and that helped Pakistan level the series.

Excellent batting display from Pakistan for a change. They elected to bat after winning the toss and have done well to post a very good total on board. Shehzad went early and Jamshed threw away his start. But since that it was the Hafeez and Akmal show. Both of them got to their fifties and took on the bowlers without fear. In process they were involved in a record third wicket partnership for Pakistan. None of the South African bowlers looked effective apart from Steyn.

Pakistan did well to come back from the loss in the first game to level the series. Hopefully, they carry this momentum in the upcoming ODI series. Today it was their batsmen who should be given the credit as they helped them post a good score. More importantly it was their skipper who led from the front. Misbah joins this team for the ODIs and they will look up to him to continue in the same way as Hafeez.

Pakistan Have Won the Toss and Chose to Bat
Pakistan 176 for 4 (Akmal 64, Steyn 2-29)
South Africa 170 for 4 (Amla 48, Afridi 3-28)
Pakistan won by 6 runs
