#1. The first match was played at Colombo, Sri Lanka on 10th February 2009 for India tour of Sri lanka 2009 Only T20 Match. India had won the match by 3 wickets in the final over. Sri Lanka Scored 171 runs with the loss of 4 wickets after they won the toss at R Premadasa Stadium. Tillakaratne Dilshan was the top scorer with 61 runs in 47.



In the chase India lost their opening Wicket Virender Sehwag run out by Kapugedera.  After the early loss Indian middle orders SK Raina and Yuvraj Singh played very sensibly and they scored 30+ runs each. At one stage India lost 7 wickets for 115 runs and they need 57 runs 29 balls. Pathan brothers had finished their match in their style very aggressively. YK Pathan scored 22 in 10 balls and IK Pathan scored 33 in 16 balls. Finally India reach the target in 19.2 over’s. YK Pathan (India) won the man of the match award for his 2 wickets and 22 runs.

#2. This was the 1st T20 match of the 2 match Series for Sri Lanka tour of India T20I Series played at Nagpur India on December 9, 2009. This was high scoring game between India vs Sri Lanka t20 matches. Sri Lanka scored 215 in their 20 over’s after India won the toss and invited Sri Lanka to bat. Both TM Dilshan and ST Jayasuriya started very well for Sri Lanka and they scored 43 for the 1st Wicket partnership. KC Sangakkara was the top scorer with 78 runs in 37 balls. He smashed 11 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. CK Kapugedera played very aggressively in the depth over’s and he scored 47 runs in 20 balls with 7 fours and a single six.



In the chase Indian openers started very well. V Sehwag scored 26 runs in 14 balls and G Gambhir scored 55 runs in 26 balls. After the openers no one gave a good contribution to India. Finally India manages to score only 186 runs and Sri Lanka won the match by 29 runs. KC Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) got the man of the match award for his 78 runs.

#3. This was the 2nd and final match of the same series, but India had won this time and levels the 2 match series by 1-1. This was the highest run chasing match for India against Sri Lanka in twenty over format. Sri Lanka had won the toss and they elected to bat at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh on December 12, 2009. Sri Lanka lost their opening wicket TM Dilshan in the 2nd over of the match for 10 runs. After the early loss Sri Lanka middle orders played very brilliantly and they scored 206 in their 20 over’s. This time also KC Sangakkara was the top scorer and he scored 59 runs in just 31 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes.



In the chase India played very well and they finished the match in 19.1 over’s. This was one of the memorable chases for India. Indian batsmen’s smashed the balls everywhere in the ground. G Gambhir scored 21 in 18 balls, V Sehwag scored 64 in 36 balls, MS Dhoni scored 46 in 28 balls and finally Yuvraj was the star who scored 60 runs in just 25 balls with the strike rate of 240.00. 17 fours and 10 sixes are scored in Indian innings. Yuvraj Singh got the man of the match award for his incredible innings and KC Sangakkara won the Man of the Series award for his 2 half centuries.

#4. On 11th May, 2010 at Gros Islet, St Lucia Sri Lanka won by 5 wickets with 0 balls remaining against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2010 23rd Match. This was the 4th T20I match between India and Sri Lanka.  This was one of the tight matches between India and Sri Lanka. India had won the toss and they bat first. They started very well but they scored very slowly. India manages to score only 163 runs in their 20 overs. SK Raina was the top scorer with 63 runs.



In the chase Sri Lanka lost their opening wickets DPMD Jayawardene and ST Jayasuriya for just 6 runs. After the early loss Sri Lankan middle orders played very responsibly and they reach the target in the final ball of the match. KC Sangakkara and AD Mathews are the top scorers and they scored 46 runs each. CK Kapugedera scored 37 runs in just 16 balls help Sri Lanka to beat India in the final ball. AD Mathews (Sri Lanka) got the man of the match award for his valuable 46 runs.

#5. 07 August, 2012 at Pallekele, India won by 39 runs - India tour of Sri Lanka, 2012, Only T20I

155 were India's lowest score against Sri Lanka in T20s but that proved to be enough. Irfan Pathan delivered the major blows early in the innings - he got the first 3 wickets and dented the chase even before it started. Thirimanne, Mathews and Jeevan Mendis got starts but India kept striking at regular intervals and prevented any sort of partnership from developing. Dinda got 3 wickets in the 18th over, finishing the match in a hurry.
