This is an emphatic win for Bangaldesh. They were chasing a stiff total and did well to get there with 4 balls to spare. The openers gave them a good start as they added 61 and laid the platform. Shamsur was excellent and missed out on a well deserved hundred. He was well supported by Naeem Islam. In the end the cameo from Nasir Hossain took them home. The New Zealand bowlers were finding it difficult to get regular wickets, they could not get an early wicket and were under pressure most of the time during the run chase. The jinx continues for New Zealand, they have now been whitewashed twice in three years.
Previously Banglades have won the toss and chose to field. New Zealand were sent in to bat by Mushfiqur and they have done well to get a big score on the board. They were led by Taylor who got his 8th ODI hundred and was superb in pacing his innings. He was well supported by Munro who scored a brilliant 85 and was the aggressor in the partnership. The Bangladesh bowlers did not get much help from this wicket as they got in Mirpur and they were not able to contain Taylor in the death overs.
Bangladesh 309 for 6 (Shamsur 96, Naeem 63, Nasir 44*) beat New Zealand 307 for 5 (Taylor 107*, Munro 85) by four wickets.
